BODIAM BRINGS OUT THE BEST

Y3/4

Our Year 3/4 class is working to the National Curriculum and the revised Literacy and Numeracy Strategies (2006), and are assessed accordingly.  Science and ICT are also core subjects and form an integral part of our framework of studies.  We want our pupils to have the skills necessary to explore and develop an understanding of the world around them.

We believe in providing our children with a rich, broad and balanced curriculum.  The Foundation Subjects -  Design Technology, History, Geography, P.E. Art, Music, P.S.H.E., Citizenship, French and R.E. make up a comprehensive curriculum.  Subjects are linked together where possible, under a topic heading.  Making links between curriculum subjects and areas of learning deepens children's understanding by providing opportunities to reinforce and enhance learning.

We make learning exciting by bringing in experts who can give children first hand experiences as shown in these photographs of a recent Roman Day held here in school.

We also take children out to visit museums, galleries and the theatre.  We always visit the British Museum when we study the Ancient Egyptians and we have also taken children to the Houses of Parliament as part of their citizenship studies.
